Today we are extra excited about these two Argentine reds from Melipal Winery because they are the first two imports of our long time customer and friend of the shop, Mackenzie Mallon. Just last year, Mackenzie went from enjoying a glass of red at dinner with her husband Rich to establishing her own importing company. When she brought us these two reds to taste, we were amazed by their quality and how well they drank for the price. A great way to kick off her portfolio, we are sure that these are only the first of many wines we bring in from Mackenzie!
Located 20 minutes from Mendoza, Melipal Winery is surrounded by willow trees, canals, and a breathtaking view of the Andes Mountains. A small production, family-run winery, Melipal produces full-bodied, Old World style wines inspired by Bordeaux winemaking. Earthy and powerful, both the red blend and cabernet deserve a solid decant before drinking. Trust us, the reward is well worth the hour wait!
