Deep ruby red in the glass, Carmenere is commonly softer than Cabernet with full flavors of red fruit and herbal notes. Originating in Bordeaux, the varietal is now most widely grown in Chile. It may be quite a difficult grape to grow, but an easy wine to pair with food.
From the leading organic and biodynamic producer of Chile comes Antiyal Pura Fe Carmenere. Juicy, smooth, and easy to drink, this boutique winery's Carmenere reveals cherry and spice up front with subtle notes of chocolate and leather on the palate. This is a great value for the money and made to drink young. Pair with smoked meats, grilled chicken, pork, lamb, or even some spicy dishes for a dinner date for two or a family meal.
