Nose: A fresh, maritime character: sea spray, wet seaweed or kelp, green herbs. Underpinning that is a light peat smoke and a hint of citrus zest (lemon or lime). With time a faint vanilla or almond oil sheen appears.
Palate: Medium-bodied, smooth and relatively light for an Islay: starts sweet (vanilla, mild toffee), moves into salty mineral/brine character and gently smoky peat. Citrus elements (lemon peel) and a touch of pepper or spice appear.
Finish: A clean but persistent finish: lingering peat-smoke, a whiff of tar or ash, coastal saltiness, and citrus echo. It fades to a smoky sea-salt aftertaste.
