"Carmenere is a spicy varietal with Bordeaux origins that has been flourishing in Chile for years. Today it is finally getting its moment to shine on Long Island thanks to Osprey's Dominion, the first local producer of this unique grape. Delivering a rich, dry, and enjoyable red, we couldn't be more excited to share Osprey's Dominion Carmenere as our Local Wine of the Month pick for January!"
- Staff Note
"This Bordeaux variety is rarely bottled on its own outside of Chile, so it's a real treat to see such a stellar domestic bottling. Densely packed aromas of graphite, thyme, sage, moss and button mushroom seamlessly mingle with the cranberry and blackberry core on the nose. It's equally compact and intense on the medium-bodied palate, where earthy and herb accents play well against the plump berry fruit. Showing grip and drive now, this should hold well through 2028."
