McCall Wines
Known for producing some of Long Island's most exquisite Pinot Noir offerings, McCall Wines is a must-know winery here on the Nork Fork. Located in Cutchogue, the vineyard originally consisted of just 11 acres of Pinot Noir and 10 acres of Merlot, but in 2011 the winery acquired North Ridge Vineyard which allowed them to plant more varietals including Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Petit Verdot, and Syrah. The winery produced its first vintage in 2007, opened a tasting room in 2010, and became Long Island's first wind-powered farm that same year. McCall has been committed to sustainable farming from the beginning and is certified sustainable by Long Island Sustainable Winegrowing. Including a charming Sancerre-inspired Sauvignon Blanc, a Bordeaux-style blend made only in exceptional vintages, and one delicious Burgundian style Pinot Noir, get to know the delicious lineup from McCall Wines, our Local Winery of the Month for October, below.
